1)Role: Tech Ops

We are looking for an experienced candidate to join the Tech Ops team at the D. E. Shaw India office based in Hyderabad or Gurugram. Options Tech India is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of proprietary trader tools and data infrastructure, which are critical to options trading. The team is focused on long-term goals like working closely with Traders and Quants to build web-based real time tools, building robust systems for data processing, and integrating with the firm’s infrastructure. The team is responsible for building, maintaining, and monitoring our systems/datasets and addressing alerts promptly to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of our daily processes and various services/systems, strategizing and implementing long-term resolutions for any systematic/recurrent issues. This includes troubleshooting critical business processes, managing vendor data issues and queries, analyzing application usage, and improving the overall operational efficiency. You will ensure the smooth running of critical daily processes using firm-wide infrastructure and monitoring tools. You will also resolve data issues promptly by following up with internal teams and liaising with external vendors. Furthermore, you will handle small and quick changes to the software for immediate resolutions and for upgrades. You will maintain operations and other relevant documentation to ensure it is up to date. Additionally, you will track and resolve outstanding operations tickets and report on team SLAs. You will monitor our applications and infrastructure closely to prevent system degradation.

Looking For:
  • IT experience in the role of application software support and L1/L2 operation services
  • Good troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Flexibility with the working hours. The candidate should be open to working either early morning or late-night shifts
  • Prior experience in a Linux environment, exposure to scripting and application support environments, along with familiarity with one of the programming languages like C/C++/Python/Java
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to efficiently deal with multiple time-critical issues in an agile environment
  • Good attention to detail, ownership, and follow-through

2)Role: Analyst

We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join our DESRI group, based out of the firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. The successful candidate will be part of a small, diverse, highly skilled team responsible for supporting DESRI’s portfolio of wind and solar energy projects in an agile environment that values collaboration, thoughtful problem solving, and attention to detail. The role will regularly interact with U.S. and Hyderabad based teams as well as external parties.

Responsibilities:
You will be a part of the Asset Management team based out of the Hyderabad office and assist the team in the seamless delivery of asset management activities/deliverables. You will work closely with a cross functional team on portfolio-wide processes, including (but not limited to) preparing monthly operating reports for lenders, revenue invoicing, and REC sales. You will prepare timely and comprehensive reports for management on portfolio-level operational performance and related parameters on a weekly and monthly basis. You will maintain and create databases and aggregate asset-related information at both the project and portfolio levels, as well as coordinate and maintain the information in the company’s operational ERP platform. You’re expected to build and provide input on general business processes, streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and create related process manual(s). Assisting the team on all ad hoc requests, including (but not limited to) the preparation of annual budgets and compliance.

Looking For:
  • Candidates with prior experience in renewable space (solar or wind) or any energy-related field will have an added advantage
  • The candidate should have hands-on knowledge of preparing operational performance reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Candidates with working knowledge of monitoring and tracking renewable plant performance will be preferred
  • The candidate should have excellent process management skills including tracking, reporting, and automating
  • The ideal candidate should have excellent project and time management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Candidates with prior experience in interacting with front office teams as well as external parties, including lenders, third-party consultants, O&M operators, vendors, etc., will be preferred
  • The ideal candidate should have exceptional written and spoken communication skills, along with the ability to work both individually and collaboratively with various teams
